Salt Air Limited is committed to the preservation of Northland’s unique and pristine environment.

The Department of Conservation is a Government agency charged with the conservation of New Zealand’s natural and historic heritage. This entails managing a myriad of wild, beautiful and remote places to ensure they are cared for and accessible for the public of New Zealand and visitors to enjoy.

Cape Reinga and the wider Te Paki reserves are such places. Since Salt Air began flying to Te Paki we have become passionate about helping to protect this unique and fragile environment. We recognise the benefits for us as commercial operators, and our customers, in ensuring the pristine beauty of Te Paki is safeguarded into the future.

A recycle policy is active in our administrative office environment, and this is also supported at an operational level.

Salt Air has committed to purchasing more modern aircraft which reflect the new technology available. This technology means today’s aircraft are 50% quieter than 10 years ago. By purchasing larger aircraft which carry more passengers per flight, we are taking steps to ensure greater fuel efficiency, at a greatly reduced noise intrusion.

It is our intention to continue to upgrade our fleet with an ongoing programme whilst allowing our passengers to enjoy the untouched natural beauty of this region.
